Raised by strong women who traveled the globe, Owner and Designer of ladha, Lindsay Knox, was taught to value and appreciate multicultural aesthetics and all things artistic. She grew up admiring the many precious and wearable treasures that would later be handed down to her as family heirlooms. Today, her hope is to create timeless, elegant and understated jewelry that evokes a sense of refined worldliness.
“The word ‘ladha’ is Swahili for ‘flavor’, synonymous with pleasure, taste and joy,” says Knox. “As we dress ourselves, our jewelry serves as ‘seasoning’ and helps to bring out our true personality and individual style. The intent behind my designs is to promote self expression and confidence, to allow the wearer to shine as they move through the world, flaunting their unique flavor.”

Knox is most inspired by the jewelry worn by her mom and aunt in the late 70's, 80's and 90's. Both avid travelers, they collected pieces from Paris, Beijing, Nairobi, Cairo and Istanbul, with day-to-day jewelry staples including chunky hoops, gold bangles, layered chains and stacking rings. These shapes stayed with Knox, inspiring her to create wearable and luxurious designs with a bit of international flavor.

“The Sahara Ridge Hoops are by far my best selling earrings and have become my signature design,” Knox tells BLK OCEANS. “The Reyes Domed ring is also a fan favorite, as it is such a great statement ring that can be worn easily every day. The Estrella Diamond Necklace is a sweet piece with a vintage feel that looks great on it's own or layered with your favorite everyday chains.”
Knox is currently working on expanding the Sahara Ridge collection and will be introducing some new hoops and bangles in gold and bronze as well as more diamonds and gemstones.
