2020 was a challenging year for all of us. Mavis Hicks was working as an essential worker when she began suffering from depression and feelings of isolation. She decided to dive into and expand her wellness routine to nourish her body and honor herself. After six months, her new regimen became a self care routine and expanded to include therapy and fitness training. She became committed to growing her line of skincare products and fully launching Mavology, under new branding.
All of their products are carefully crafted, using only the finest ingredients, and made to bring awareness back to self by nurturing the body.
We connected with Hicks to learn more about her brand and signature products.
What products are customers buying this winter?
“During the cooler months our Signature Whipped Shea Body Butters are our top sellers! They are formulated with raw organic shea butter and whipped to perfection for easy application. Our butters come in four amazing scents that will suit any taste. My personal favorite is “Enhance”, beautifully scented with rose and amber. It is enhanced with natural gold mice which gives the body a subtle sexy shimmer which dazzles in the sun or in direct light.”
How can we prioritize our self care routines?
“I make time for self-care by making it a priority and necessity. I focus on purchasing products that allow me to slow down and be mindful of the application process. Time is truly relative in our society. I often challenge clients to prioritize themselves and see how much free time they actually have. Mindset is very important when it comes to self-care, we can psych ourselves out of believing we are not worthy of pause, evaluation, and pampering.”
What’s in store for Mavology?
“In 2023 Mavology is all about expansion. we plan to grow our wholesale vendor list into multiple cities around the country. We also hope to gain funding to develop a creative studio space to grow our product line.”
