It’s not every day that fashion makes you smile, but Victoria Parker-Barajas, CEO of Simply Artrageous, manages to do that with every bold and colorful statement piece she creates. Born a creative, Parker-Barajas has always loved making things with her hands. In 2012, she started making and selling jewelry. It was the possibility of a trip to Europe that drove her to start her own business, so she could fund the girls’ getaway. Today, her collection of earrings offer retro-inspired shapes in colors that feel like pure sunshine.
Parker-Barajas shares with BLK OCEANS her inspiration and plans for the future.

What sets Simply Artrageous apart from other jewelry brands?
I feel that my brand shows the uniqueness of who I am. No two people are alike, just as no two brands should be alike. I try to stay true to who I am as a person and hope that shows through my brand. Simply Artrageous is all about bold colors, fun shapes and textures, with a retro flair.
What products are your customers drawn to most?
My Monstera Leaf earrings are definitely what I’m known for. While they’re beautiful large statement earrings, they’re lightweight at the same time. I’ve seen them worn with an everyday outfit to something you’d wear to a gala event. Just recently, I came out with a Palm Springs Mid-Century collection and my Parker earrings sold out in one day. I love the response they got, and I believe it’s because of their fun, retro vibes.

Looking forward, what can we expect to see from Simply Artrageous in the coming months?
I’m already planning for my fall/winter collection and I am so excited about it! It’s going to be an Art Deco inspired collection with different mediums from resin, polymer clay, brass and special paints and glitters. I feel that I work best with well planned and thought out collections and that is what I plan on doing more of in the future.
I hope to be able to do this full time and continue to help encourage others to feel comfortable in their uniqueness and creativity.
