Joyaa Cole, a millennial originally from Chicago, IL now residing in Houston, TX,  is an IT Project Manager by day and Chandler by night, although her most fulfilling and rewarding job is being a Mother. Joyaa began making candles as a hobby but that soon developed into a thriving business. Her love of luxury candles, along with the opportunity to create them through the joining of art and science, is how Joe + Monroe candles came to be.

“Joe + Monroe provides eco-friendly, individually hand poured luxury scented candles,” says Cole. “A luxurious vegan blend of natural apricot and coconut wax, our candles are infused with essential oils sourced from all over the world. Providing an environmentally clean burn, our candles are gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and are made fresh to order!” 

With personal inspiration and drive behind the brand, the name, Joe + Monroe, pays homage to two monumental and inspiring people in Cole’s life: her grandfather, Joe, and her daughter, middle named Monroe. 

To date, some of their best selling products include the Brandy Leather Candle, pleasing to both masculine and feminine sensibilities, the Pineapple Sage Candle, offering a tropical blend, and the Candle Lover Set, which allows customers to customize their order by selecting two scents from the Signature Collection. 

Looking beyond candles, Cole is thrilled to be expanding the Joe + Monroe collection to include luxury body products this coming fall.
