Breighl “Bre” Robbins founded Ebi to support healthy postpartum experiences by making self-care straightforward, effective and safe.  Ebi is Yoruba for family, and as a company, it features wellness products that work in sync to nourish, heal and soothe after a mother gives birth.

Robbins, who works in integrative medicine, has a deep understanding for the unique challenge of becoming a mother. In response to the lack of wellness products dedicated solely to the special needs of new moms, she set out to fill the void by creating the highest quality wellness products using clean ingredients and employing ethical sourcing practices.

Robbins partners with local organic farms in the northeast and each step of product production is done by hand in her studio in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.  Kits are made with organic, whole plant ingredients that include a variety of oils, tisanes (teas) and bath products, and clothing items include 100% cotton nipple pads and underwear.

The Everyday Kit is the most popular item. It has an herbal tisane that supports healthy milk production, soothes the nervous system and provides vitamins and minerals to ward off fatigue and general depletion.  This kit also has an herbal bath that contains herbs that work together to aid in repair, toning and cleansing the perineal tissues following birth. The kit also includes an herbal oil to be used all over your body, formulated to restore the health of the skin.

Ebi has been featured in Vogue magazine where Robbins states, “You’re stepping into this new role.  It’s not the body you once knew; you’re not the person you once knew.  I think taking the time to pause and acknowledge that is something a lot more women are starting to be aware of.”

This Black-owned business that focuses on postpartum care is encouraging the lifelong practice of introspection and balancing giving and receiving care.  Ebi wishes to give mothers permission to take care of self.
